Employment Program for Druze

Supporting Druze veterans as they transition to civilian careers in high-tech.

The Challenge

Despite high academic achievement compared to the rest of Israel, Druze citizens remain almost entirely excluded from Israel’s booming high-tech sector. Fewer than 200 Druze are employed in tech out of nearly 500,000 total workers. That’s less than 1% of the entire high-tech workforce.

Many Druze men complete years of military service and struggle to transition into civilian careers, a problem intensified since the October 2023 war.

  • Overall employment rate: 54.9% of the Druze population is employed. 54.9% 54.9%
  • Sector concentration: Most Druze workers are employed in sales and service. 28.3% 28.3%
  • Druze employed in skilled trades. 23.2% 23.2%
  • Druze employed in public administration or security. 16.6% 16.6%

This isn’t symbolic; it’s economic.

Wage gap: Average incomes in Druze communities remain significantly lower than in Jewish communities, reflecting limited access to higher-paying sectors.
Education and employment: Among Druze with degrees aged 25–34, employment is 98% for men and 79% for women, yet degree holders still earn less than their Jewish peers.

Our Solution

Over the next year, we are planning to start this pilot program and serve three cohorts (60-70 participants). We will create quality employment opportunities for Druze men and women in Israel’s high-tech and defense industries. Through focused training and high-quality placement, the program promotes high-productivity employment, empowers personal potential, and contributes to Israel’s economic growth and social resilience.

We are honored to receive 49% of this program’s funding from the Ministry for the Development of the Galilee.

Inside the Program

Our program supports two groups:

  • Druze men who were recently discharged from regular army service, career military service, or reserves and are currently unemployed.
  • Druze women who completed national service and hold a technological academic background.

We offer:

  • Industry-aligned technological training
  • Soft skills development and job-readiness workshops
  • Direct job placement with end employers committed to hiring participants

Because those who serve deserve every opportunity

Military service shouldn’t end in unemployment. It’s crucial that every Israeli citizen has the opportunity to pursue a sustaining career and fulfilling career, especially those that have given so much to this country.

Help us open doors to Israel’s tech sector for those who’ve already given so much.
